Recently, South Africa's Mail & Guardian newspaper, in collaboration with the United Nations Millennium Development Campaign, launched a series of exclusive interviews with African presidents about the progress their countries have made toward achieving the  Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This week, the newspaper staff spoke with Rwandan President Paul Kagame. During the interview, President Kagame referred to the 2005 DHS several times, explaining how the survey results have helped Rwanda measure its progress toward meetings the MDGs.

HIV/AIDS-related knowledge, attitudes and behavior indicators from the following surveys are now available on the HIV/AIDS Surveys Indicator database (http://www.measuredhs.com/hivdata). Both surveys included HIV testing, including in the previous rounds, and HIV prevalence indicators are available.
