Indicators

Information on prevalence of domestic violence is available in all listed countries. In addition, in the countries where the complete DHS Domestic Violence Module was implemented, information is available on the following indicators:

• Experience of any violence ever and in the past 12 months
• Frequency of violence
• Consequences of violence
• Violence during pregnancy
• When spousal violence was first initiated
• Violence by women against their spouse/partner
• Whether and from whom help was sought
• Whether the respondent's mother experienced spousal violence
