Abstract:

The main objective of this project is to explore the differntials and tendencies of marital fertility in Brazil, by type of union, during three periods of the fertility transition, 1976, 1984 and 1991, in three main regions: Northeast, São Paulo and South. Levels of education and place of residence are also considered as important covariates in the analysis.
