Abstract: This paper discusses some new developments in quantitative data analysis in social sciences. Using the data from National Family Health Survey (1998-99), it illustrates the appropriate applications of data analysis, instead of the conventional way of dealing with such data for testing hypothesis. Particular attention is paid to the application of logistic regression and multilevel analysis. The paper discusses the application of these techniques and the resulting interpretations.
